Yili Apricot Valley, China. Every year, these rolling hills in Xinjiang explode into a puffy sea of pink and white. As the largest groves of apricots in the region, this flowering signifies the beginning of the fruiting season, while also transforming the landscape into something other-worldly.
This wonderful coordination is actually a yukata!
I am feeling the combination of the soft heko-obi ribbon echoing the soft watercolor-like motif of the poppies on the yukata, and the hatpin in the obi echoing the pearl and bead necklace. The purples and brass color in the yukata are again repeated in the model’s hair ribbon (I am not sure about that 80’s color eyeshadow though..) and the softness of the forms is repeated. This yukata is fashion-forward (to use a Project Runway phrase) and really on point for 2014.
I visited “Kaga-Yuzen Maida”,the workshop of “加賀友禅(Kaga-Yuzen)”,on 18th of this month.
In comparison to well known decorative”京友禅(Kyo-Yuzen) in Kyoto”,the design of Kaga-Yuzen are natural beauty itself.quiet flowers, worm eaten leaf, birds, and landscape….Such beautiful and elaborate patterns were drawn handiwork by craftsman.

- Hug from behind
A couple of days have passed since Yuki started working at the zoo.
It was early afternoon, and Makoto was already tired. It was burning hot outside, almost enough to boil the water in his tank. He really didn’t want to practice trick routines today, and he prayed none of the workers wanted to train him today, either.
But then, he heard a splash, followed by a pair of slender arms wrapping around his blubbery body. He looked behind himself as best he could, and saw her, clad in a black and white wetsuit.
Yuki paused in thought, unsure of how to respond to such a thing. After a few moments in very deep thought, she touched the glass. “I wouldn’t know to be honest. I would just….stick to the thing that I felt was the true me. Be who I think I am and try to make it work. S-sorry if that isn’t helpful but this kind of thing is tough to even have clear answer.”
I-It’s okay!! Still, that waver in his voice… It’s just, I’ve just been thinking about it lately… A lot of things, actually. He gave a heavy sigh. …but, I think you might be right… I really can’t let this drag me down. I’m still trying to figure out my true self, but… There’s nothing stopping me from making the best of both my whale and human sides. Right…? It was hard to tell, but Makoto’s face right then was like a shy smile. What’s your family like, Yuki?
"Well….just keep calm and I suppose who you really are will make itself clear. Though I do wonder what you look like as human." she said touching her chin in thought. "My family? Well…I have a little brother and sister and my parents are good people. I think I come from a good family but we’re not rich or anything of that sort. We’re just kind of…normal."
It was sometimes difficult for him to understand the concept of money, and why some people had better lives than others simply because of how much of it they had. It wasn’t like he could get a job himself anyways, so… That’s just how his mind worked. Oh, but that still sounds nice!! Do you… you know, get along with them? Some of the humans he’s talked to would vent about their problems at home. He wanted to make sure Yuki wasn’t holding onto any negative feelings…
The young girl chuckled lightly “They are a little hard to handle sometimes but still….they are my family and I love them all the same.” she smiled. “S-sorry if this brings up anything sad for you…”
